The most important thing to do when owning a carbon road bike is to keep it clean!

If you live by an ocean where there's lots of salt in the air, or if you're a person who sweats excessively, you should take extra care to clean and rinse the salt off your bicycle and components to protect them from any possible corrosion of the metal parts.

Similarly, if you are using a carbon bike in winter please take extra care with your cleaning; make sure to remove any salt residue, keep your bike serviced and use the proper lubes, cleaners and protective sprays. Do this preferably after every ride.
